Disney has announced plans to construct its seventh theme park in Abu Dhabi, marking the company’s first park in the Middle East. The new attraction will be located on Yas Island, a leading entertainment destination in the UAE, and developed in partnership with Miral, Abu Dhabi’s top creator of immersive experiences.
The park will be owned and operated by Miral under a license from The Walt Disney Company, while Disney’s creative team of Imagineers will lead the design and development. The new park aims to merge Disney’s iconic stories and characters with Abu Dhabi’s modern architecture, vibrant culture, and scenic landscapes, offering visitors a unique and immersive experience.
While an official opening date has not been announced, the park is expected to draw tourists from across the Middle East, Africa, India, Asia, and Europe, further establishing Abu Dhabi as a global entertainment hub.
Robert A. Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, said, “As our seventh theme park destination, it will rise from this land in spectacular fashion, blending contemporary architecture with cutting-edge technology to offer guests deeply immersive entertainment experiences in unique and modern ways.”
This development aligns with Abu Dhabi’s strategic vision to expand tourism and diversify its economy. The park is anticipated to generate new jobs, attract international visitors, and boost the emirate’s profile as a destination for world-class entertainment.
By combining Disney’s global brand with local innovation, the Yas Island project represents a major step in enhancing Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a leading leisure and cultural destination.
