The UAE art scene is active with a wide range of exhibitions across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah. Galleries and cultural spaces are showcasing photography, sculpture, design, and mixed media works before the summer slowdown. These shows reflect how artists in the region explore identity, memory, nature, and the human body through different forms of expression.
One of the key exhibitions is “The UAE is Beautiful” at the Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi. It brings together photographers living in the country to present a collective visual story of landscapes, people, and national identity. The show is inspired by a public statement from the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, describing the country as a role model. The exhibition focuses on themes of belonging, resilience, and shared experience.
Another major show is “Cross Scripts” at Lawrie Shabibi in Dubai. It features artists and designers working across disciplines such as art, architecture, craft, and furniture design. The exhibition highlights how everyday objects can carry meaning beyond function. It also explores how traditional materials and modern design continue to influence each other in the region.
At Sharjah Art Foundation, “Body Quotidian” presents works by Laila Majid and Inaam Zafar. The exhibition focuses on how the human body is represented through surfaces, materials, and abstract forms. It examines themes of beauty, identity, and perception in a world shaped by technology and changing social ideas.
Another exhibition, “Under the Same Sky” at Rizq Art Initiative, brings together 20 artists based in the UAE. It explores how life in the country shapes artistic expression. The works reflect different cultural backgrounds and experiences, showing how memory, migration, and environment influence creative practice.
“Interoception” at Iris Projects features works by Juma Al Haj. The exhibition responds to emotional and psychological experiences linked to crisis and uncertainty. It uses painting and abstract forms to express fear, memory, and personal reflection, turning lived experience into visual storytelling.
At Bassam Freiha Art Foundation, “Seeing Ourselves” is a student-led photography exhibition created with Zayed University. Emirati students document their surroundings through portraits, landscapes, and architecture. The project shifts focus toward young local voices and how they see the country today.
“The Two Walks” at Carbon 12 in Dubai focuses on works on paper selected by curator Judy Karkour. It includes drawings, collage, and mixed media by 14 artists. The exhibition treats paper as a complete artistic medium rather than just a preparatory surface. Themes include memory, environment, and emotional expression.
Together, these seven exhibitions show the diversity of the UAE’s art landscape. From photography and sculpture to experimental installations, the shows reflect a growing creative scene shaped by both local and international voices. They highlight how artists continue to explore identity, space, and human experience in new and evolving ways.
